ARTKAR electrik an art show that is the convergence of three ideas electric cars, the movie American Graffiti, and paper art…… Jim Ramsay had vague notions about owning an electric car and an admiration for a vehicle from the movie American Graffiti, a 1949 Mercury. Jim found a Mercury, and 2 years later with help from many car aficionados, is now at the point of picking paint finishes. To get ideas for his car, increase interest in electric cars and promote the art community in Vancouver, Jim produced 30 paper models of the Merc for artists to finish any way they choose. The cars will be displayed at Joe Blow Glassworks November 27 along with the real car and a sample of each artists own work (available for purchase).
